**REGRET by Extra22
A wonderful little story set about six months after Xena and Gabrielle's first meeting, this is told through the warrior's perspective as the two struggle through some very cold weather and the ex-warlord finds herself at odds about her companion's presence - convinced that going back home will be best for the girl...yet feeling strangely saddened by that likely possibility. Soon the two are joined by a fellow traveler, with a story to tell - and a lesson to teach. Extra22 does an excellent job here in capturing Xena's "voice" presenting us with a warrior who is amusingly blunt, ever cautious about strangers and about those walls around her heart, yet quietly vulnerable as well. A fine read with a nostalgic feel to it. DO NOT MISS! - 5 pgs., 9/19/00
