Nicely written and edited story set immediately after the events in the episode THE PRICE which has Xena and Gabrielle both suffering the psychological aftereffects of that terrible ordeal, struggling valiantly to keep their emotions from erupting and possibly damaging their friendship irrevocably. SCENE AROUND THE CAMPFIRE: A CONTINUING SAGA by Rebecca Weiner
Written from Gabby's point of view, this seems to be the first in a series of vignettes Rebecca is planning. It has Xena and a very inebriated bard just sitting around a campfire talking about their past, choices made, friendships formed. This is a different approach which works well. - 5 pgs., 5/9/97
