The following are reviews of fanfic and original fiction set during the Thanksgiving period. The majority of reviews are for Xena and uber-Xena stories.

XWP is set in Ancient Greece which did not exactly celebrate the same holidays we celebrate today. However, they did have festivities which were similar in spirit and often took place around the same time of the year. Like many of the ancient cultures, they had harvest festivals during which they gathered together with friends and families. **GREAT TURKEY CRUSADE (THE) OR T.L.F. (TURKEY LIBERATION FRONT) ON THE OFFENSIVE by Silk
An absolutely delightful sequel to Silk's recent story THE GREAT TURKEY MYSTERY which finds warrior and bard back in Amphipolis, this time to celebrate Solstice. Minutes after arriving, Xena is besieged by her former fellow conspirators from some weeks back who are still harboring the escapees from the Harvest festival and badly in need of help in order to assure the safety of these. To the rescue comes the Great Turkey Liberator ready to unleash more mischief on the unsuspecting adults of Amphipolis in a Solstice none of them will soon forget! A precious story with a very unusual characterization of the fierce Warrior Princess. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - 7 pgs., 12/11/97

**GREAT TURKEY EXPLOSION (THE) OR T.L.F. (TURKEY LIBERATION FRONT) UNDER SIEGE by Silk
One of the funniest series in Xena fanfic keeps getting...FUNNIER! The Great Turkey Liberator and her bard return to Amphipolis in this third story were they discover that their heroic efforts on behalf of a few feathered friends have led to some...unforeseen developments ;-) Adding to Xena's "fierce" reputation, this entire series is a MUST READ folks! Silk masterfully taps into that side of the Warrior Princess that perhaps more than any other makes her a true hero. Throw some ingenious humor into the picture and we get a story certain to delight any Xenite! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! [See also the other titles in the WARRIOR...PRINCESS... Absolutely DELIGHTFUL new story that succeeds in garnering for a certain Warrior Princess yet another title ;-) Something that will fit right in with "Destroyer of Nations". Set during the Harvest festival in Amphipolis, the story has the residents of the town getting ready for the festivities when to their horror they discover that the main ingredients for their feast are missing! - THE TURKEYS!! Another "turkey" of a story that is taking Xena's reputation in an entirely new direction :) On their way to Amphipolis, the bard and a disgruntled Warrior Princess spy old enemies of Greece trying to reassert themselves after the last sound beating they got so Xena and the Gabster decide to give them a reminder...this time with some feathered help ;-) Very cute. **TROPICAL STORM by Melissa Good -- [Alt]
Time for uber-Xena fans to rejoice as the incredibly talented Missy Good extends her gift of storytelling into the contemporary uber realm. Missy's latest is a departure from everything she's done before - a story set in modern-day Miami, centering on the lives of two strangers whose destinies bring them together amidst the turmoil of a hostile corporate takeover. Wealthy, brilliant and deadly, Dar Roberts has cultivated a well-earned reputation as one of the most efficient corporate raiders in the Information Technologies business. To her bosses she is a formidable weapon to be used in the never-ending struggle for power, control and profit. To the people employed by the companies she assimilates - the executive is a predator - cold and merciless. It is a reputation she is living up to as she prepares to decimate the work force of a recent acquisition. In charge of that work force is Kerry Stuart - a smart, young manager whose life had been going well until the recent turn of events. With dogged determination, Kerry has escaped the pressures of family to make her own way in the world - establishing a career and rising quickly within a small company - only to now have to face the prospect of those efforts being for naught as a disconcertingly beautiful blue-eyed shark strolls into her office. Missy's many strengths are quickly in evidence throughout the first parts of this story - rich descriptions that engage your every sense - multi-layered characterizations that draw you into the psyche of the characters and a story very much grounded in human emotions, human frailties and strengths along with the raw vulnerabilities that ultimately make us all seek the comfort of another soul. Working in the the Information Technologies industry herself and a fellow Miamian, Missy also imbues the story with a very realistic feel.
